
Dr. Dimitrios Maragiannis is a consultant cardiologist, with particular focus in cardiovascular imaging. He applies echocardiography and cardiac MRI to detect cardiovascular disease in a great number of patients on a daily basis at 401 General Military Hospital of Athens.
He graduated medical school at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. After completing Cardiology training at the First Department of Cardiology, Hippokration General Hospital of Athens, Dr. Maragiannis completed a three year postdoctoral fellowship in echocardiography and cardiac MRI, under the supervision of Dr Stephen Little, Dr Sherif Nagueh, Dr William Zoghbi και Dr Dipan Shah, world renowned cardiologists, at “Houston Methodist Hospital – Houston
Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center” (TX, USA). He is a Level III reader in echocardiography and cardiac MRI. He is a PhD holder and Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC), Fellow of the American Society of Echocardiography (FASE), Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) and Fellow of the American Heart Association (FAHA). He has been an invited speaker in national and international conferences. He has authored or co-authored manuscripts in peer reviewed journals and has contributed to book chapters. He has reviewed manuscripts for JACC Cardiovascular Imaging and the Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography.
